    Hi Merv,

There is an issue when setting the height of the slider to auto. The thumbnails sit on top of the main slide instead of underneath (See Reply #20021 from this topic).

My site looks correct because my client had me change it back to a fixed height. Ordinarily this wouldn’t be an issue but my client has started uploading images with different heights so some of the photos are getting stretched with a fixed height set.

I have tried a number of combinations in regards to configuring the Slider settings. Trying different sizes for the thumbnails. I’ve tried tweaking css but nothing seems to work.

    regards,
    Adam

    Hi Merv,

Hope you had a nice break.

Just wondering if you were able to work out why the thumbnails are displaying on top of the main slider image?

I have tried a number of different configuration setting combinations to no avail.

    Regards,
    Adam

    Hi Merv,

You can see my settings in the attached screenshot.

Here is a link to help debug if necessary: http://cityliving.com.au/property/hick3-25/

    Fantastic! Worked a treat Merv.

Great news on getting the few issues with the Slider sorted. Thank you.

In regards to the Auto Height issue. While functioning properly, when set to auto the layout of the Thumbnail Navigation is displaying differently than before. The Thumb Nav now sits over the main Slider image instead of underneath. I have attached a screenshot indicating the differences between the two settings. I’d much prefer to have the thumbnails running horizontally along the bottom of the main image instead of over the top. Is this possible?

And lastly… thank you for adding the ‘Support Images Ordering’ function placed at the bottom of the ‘Edit Listing’ page. My client will be very pleased at this addition. I was wondering though… Are you able to add an upload function with the ability to add & remove images to this window? This would negate the need to use the ‘Add Media’ function via the wysiwyg window, thus keeping the whole process of adding images to a listing contained in the one area.

    cheers,
    Adam

    Hi Merv,

    That’s great news!

    Do I need to uninstall/remove v1.0 before I can install 1.1?

    cheers,
    Adam

The listings were manually entered. However, I’ll do as you suggested and correct the order by setting them all to draft.

    Thank you Merv.

    Hi Merv,

In the Slider’s settings, it says to leave the field for height empty to enable auto-height (see screenshot).

I have entered height values and it seems to scale the image rather than crop it.

    Hi Merv,

Yep you’re right. Needed to update the file with the new hook. The slider is now working on the Archive pages.

So regarding the forced height of 500px on the large slide image…
Is it possible to override this so the height is ‘auto’ instead? I have set it to auto in the back but the change is not reflected in the front.

    cheers,
    Adam

    Hi Merv,

Looks like the resolution was premature. Reordering/adding or removing images from a listing using the Add Media function does not seem to work. The changes I make are not taking place in the front-end. I can only view the images attached to the listing. That is all. Which isn’t very helpful to my client.

    cheers,
    Adam

    Hi Merv,

For ‘adams-test-listing’ I added the images by ‘Creating a Gallery’ using images already present in the Media Library. Eg. [gallery ids="681,680,679,678,677,676"]

I then decided to add the images using the method from the video tutorial and it worked. However, this method only seems to work if you are uploading the images from your computer and not when selecting them from the Media Library. Is there a way to do this? Perhaps in the situation where the client has done a bulk upload to the Media Library and wants to simply select the images from there instead?

I also noticed the drop down in your screenshot is populated with “Uploaded to this Post”. This means I can reorder/add/remove images from the listing. I did not realise this function until now. Thank you for indirectly pointing this out. As a suggestion: When it comes to updating your Video Tutorial, you might want to include this very important step to show how the listing images can be added/removed and reordered after the fact.

I will instruct my client on how to do this. Apart from my question above, you can consider this issue resolved. Thank you Merv.

There is one last thing that relates to the forced height of the slider being set to 500px high. I created a separate ticket regarding this issue. If you could look into this it would be much appreciated.

    cheers,
    Adam

    Hi Merv,

Thank you for the timely reply.

My client has plans to use Real XML for generating Listing content. However, until that is set in motion, they wish to manually add their listings.

Can you please direct me to where I can “disable the automatic gallery output”? In terms of “manually adding a gallery to each listing”… Are you referring to the standard method of ‘Creating a Gallery’ via the ‘Add Media’ button on the WP wysiwyg editor? If so, I was unable to make this work with the new ‘Sliders Extension’ I’ve installed. The gallery just displays in the default WP gallery layout.

    cheers,
    Adam
