Hi,
I am currently tinkering with a website trying to convince a Real Estate agent that currently uses a Drupal based site, that WordPress has what it takes to do the job.
That off my chest I would like to ask about the possibility of modifying the “Suburb” section in Property to Cities with the ability to have Suburbs as a sub category of each City.
This is how he currently lists properties and personally it makes a lot more sense to do that.
Also while on the subject of modifying things, I am an expat Aussie living in Thailand, over here they have a couple of strange land area measurements, used nowhere else I believe, they are Wah which is 4 square metres and Rai which is a much larger area used instead of Acres or Hectares, which 0.4 Acre or 0.16 Hectares.
Can you tell me just which file I could add those 2 items to, so they are selectable when entering a property.
One last thing, how can I exclude myself as webmaster from the Authors, I have already selected the Exclude user from Author-sitemap option in Users. A better option all around which I saw in another plugin would be to have an “Agents” section rather than “Authors”
Kindest Regards
Paul CadeJune 28, 2015 at 8:32 am #13364Bam_BamSpectatorAlso while I have your attention, one of the goals of this project is to convince him that he should have a Responsive website, what he has now is absolutely not Responsive.
At the moment I only have the one property listed, when I view the page with the listing on a Mobile phone, I cannot get the listing snippet to open up to the full listing, tapping on either the photo or the blue text link won’t open it, it does work on my desktop.
Any suggestions as to what is wrong there ???
Here is a link to the page in question if you would like to check for yourself.
Kindest Regards
Paul CadeJune 29, 2015 at 4:36 pm #13428Bam_BamSpectatorI have solved the no links in Mobile problem.
Also today I have been checking everything with Firebug, it’s all well and good to find what you need to change, but finding the file it is stored in is another.
I have had a fiddle with the Land area types in Firebug and I have decided that rather than adding in to different measures, I could just change 2 that I won’t require, can you tell me where I can find this and or how to change Square and Square Feet to Rai and Talang Wah. I would also like to change Square Meter to the correct spelling that being Metre, but in my search for the file to make the changes I see that pops up in a lot of places.
<tr class="form-field"> <td> <select id="property_land_area_unit" class="dependency-false" name="property_land_area_unit"> <option value="square">Square</option> <option value="squareMeter">Square Meter</option> <option value="acre">Acre</option> <option value="hectare">Hectare</option> <option value="sqft">Square Feet</option> </select> </td>
Your Assistance is greatly appreciated.
Kindest Regards
Paul CadeJune 30, 2015 at 8:36 am #13461Merv BarrettKeymasterHi Paul,
You can use a filter to modify all aspects of the plugin so when you update your changes persist. Here is the land and building filter documentation.
We have a Staff Directory extension that takes care of agents.
Saw the mobile error you had and thought it was a plugin so glad you fixed that.
June 30, 2015 at 8:49 am #13465Merv BarrettKeymasterAlso regarding an additional City field, we are looking into that.
June 30, 2015 at 9:50 am #13468Bam_BamSpectatorMerv,
Thanks for the response, when do you think you may have City added ???
The Mobile problem wasn’t being caused by a plugin, it was the theme, but it is a known issue and easily fixed with a bit of css.
Kindest Regards
