    Hi,
The site I am setting up will only have one initial property type, I am using “Property (Residential)” and the page name is ‘property’. On the page settings for that page, changing the template seems to make no difference and I cant work out how to get nay of your great looking sidebar widgets in. DO I need to customize my theme or am I missing something?

Yes you need to customize your theme by creating an archive-listing.php and single-listing.php file. Here is the guide.

I don;t have a copy of the Minti theme

Hi and thanks for the files, I have placed them in my child theme and they fix the formatting issue with single listings.
However, on the main property page, I still cannot seem to enable a sidebar. The minti theme has a sidebar generator that upon creation makes it show up in the widgets section, but I can’t enable it on the actual page using the wp front end. none of the available page templates work. I want to achieve a listing search in a right sidebar.
    Can you please help!
    cheers
    Patrick

Hi Patrick, ive answered your questions below.

    ——————————————————–

    MAIN LISTING PAGE or “Archive”

    – set ‘property’ page as front page – when set in wordpress / settings / reading it wont show property list.
    — Not Possible with WordPress, use a shortcode or widgets on the home page to display listings. [listing post_type=”property”]

    – right sidebar widgets enabled on ‘property’ page, add listing search widget. widgets not working
    — Blog Widgets, works for me here http://easypropertylistings.com.au/demo/themes/minti/property/

    – remove list and grid option chooser, hard code for list only.
    — Use CSS to hide grid, or create a custom template and remove/add anything you want.

    – enable change background colour.
    — Use CSS to adjust anything

    SINGLE LISTING
    – single listing – remove ‘real estate agent’ and ‘about the author’ sections and social media icons.
    — Use CSS or create your own custom template.

    – enable sidebar for listing search widget
    — Again Blog widgets are your archive page. To customise you can use Widget Logic

    OVERALL
    – hard code no comments site wide
    – remove menu completely
    – change meter to metre on features
    Use a filter
