    When I switch to the condensed template, the page is not displaying any heading, I would like to have the heading at the top of the page.

    Also how can I set the main featured image to stretch the entire width ?

    Upload a bigger photo ie 900px wide. WordPress does not scale images.

    You can create your own template using the ones in the template manager as a starting point
