    Hi Merv,

My REAXML provider (Box+Dice) are unable to deliver the feed to a sub-folder (I currently have FeedSync installed in a subfolder called XML as suggested).

Is this a problem, or can I just move FeedSync to the root directory where the REAXML files are being placed?

    Cheers,
    Grace

I’ve just tested FeedSync with the an XML file containing a single property listing that Box+Dice delivered to us for testing, and FeedSync doesn’t see the file, even though it’s in the same directory.

I’ve tested the file by uploading to your demo FTP, and it showed up fine.

Would you mind having a look to see what I’ve done wrong? I can send you our new FTP details in a private reply.

    Cheers,
    Grace

    Ah, that might help, hey?

I somehow missed that step. Thought it needed to be in the same directory as the feedsync folder. Thanks Merv!

In reference to my other question though – the feed providers can’t import the feed to a subfolder… So it’s being fed straight to the root folder. Is there some other way of directing feedsync to a specific path? A directory or two higher? I’m guessing not?

    Hi Trimson

Best solution with highest security and protection to you/ your client is to create an unique FTP account for the feedprovider and when you create the account specify which folder they get access to. In this case public_html/XML/feedsync/input/

So all they can see is the input folder.

That’s a great idea. Wish I’d thought of that sooner. I’ve given them the new FTP user details.

    Thanks for the tip Merv,

    Cheers,
    Grace
